What is your background and what qualifications do you hold?

I have a PhD from McMaster University. My previous work experience is in evaluating the intellectual property and market potential of novel life sciences research. It’s about taking complicated science and translating it into information that’s easy to understand for all types of audiences.

What is your role at Yordas?

I am a Regulatory Consultant at Yordas as part of the Product Stewardship business unit. I work as part of the global monitoring team, specialize in supply chain transparency and materials risk assessments, and I also lead our SCIP services.

How did you get started with Yordas?

I was working at McMaster Innovation Park where Yordas had a launch party when they opened up the North American office there. I was drawn to the positive and collaborative Yordas culture that was easy to see at the launch! I was also impressed by seeing so many women in leadership positions at Yordas.

Who/what inspired you to pursue a career in science?

I was inspired to pursue a career in science by my first year chemistry professor. Under his guidance, I participated in a specialized lab course where we learned how to plan, execute, and present our scientific research. This project allowed me to see that chemical technologies have massive applications outside of the lab.

What do you enjoy most with training?

My favourite part of training is answering someone’s question in a way that they understand it. I enjoy being able to distill information into the most valuable components for the audience. I like knowing that people took away something new and useful from the training I delivered.

What are your hobbies/interests outside of work?

My interests include reading autobiographies of comedians, listening to podcasts, and yoga.
